Leon Joseph Littlebird, an internationally recognized singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer, and has performed on world class stages all over the country during his extensive career. His discography includes 10 albums of original music and hundreds of original songs.
Considered as a master Native American flute player, Leon co-composed a concerto for classical string quartet and Indigenous instruments entitled: “Anthem for the Ancestors.” He performed with the Chicago Symphony and currently has a commission to compose for the La Jolla Symphony Orchestra.
His passion for Native American history and storytelling created a lecture series entitled: “Indigenous History of Music,” popular with historical societies, libraries, tour groups, colleges and schools.
Leon actively participates as co-founder and VP of Summit Musicians Relief Fund, a 501c3 non-profit in Summit County Colorado. SMRF assists local musicians who experience financial difficulties due to illness, injury or hardship.
He served as VP on the Board of Directors for Archdiocesan Housing in Denver for 5 years. During his tenure, AHC developed 6 new low income housing projects including Villa Sierra Madre 1 & 2 in Silverthorne Colorado.
Professionally his business career includes: National recognition as a public speaker, owner and president of Retail Advisory Group, a high-end consulting company and owner/operator of several successful retail establishments.
In addition to his music career and extensive business acumen, Leon has attained the highest level of certification from Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA). During his 35 years of training ski instructors, he developed an innovative, Student Centered teaching process and presented training clinics for every major ski school in the Rocky Mountains.
